When arranging a cremation, a choice must be made as to which crematorium to use. The two most frequently used crematoria are Moray Crematorium (Broadley, near Buckie) or Inverness Crematorium.
Moray Crematorium is situated at Broadley, near Buckie, and easily accessible from the main A98 Fochabers to Fraserburgh road. Moray Crematorium can seat about 180 people, with additional standing capacity. An organ is present in the chapel, if required for a service. Alternatively, music can be played from a CD provided previously by the family or crematorium. There are no steps into the chapel, which makes it easily accessible for wheelchairs.
The times at Moray Crematorium are every 2 hours, the first time being 10 am and the last time 2 pm Monday to Thursday, and 10 am until 12 am on Friday.
Inverness Crematorium is situated along the A82 Inverness to Fort William road, 1 mile on the right after leaving Inverness. Inverness Crematorium has two chapels: the Large Chapel and the Small Chapel. The Large Chapel can seat about 120 people and the Small Chapel can seat around 22 people. Only the large chapel has an organ. There is provision for music on CD to be played at the Small Chapel. Both chapels are accessible for wheelchairs.
Services are every 1 hour with the first time being 10.30 am and the last time 2.30 pm Monday to Friday Once a service is booked for a chapel, please note that there will not be a service in the remaining chapel.
